Start with the company in your agreement
A broker brand can operate through several legal entities. Find the full company name, licence number and registered address in the agreement presented during registration. Compare these with the regulator’s own register, including the website and contact details. A familiar logo is not enough.
Write down which entity would hold your money, whether it is authorised for the service you need and whether it may serve residents of your country. If those answers are unclear, pause the application.
Compare the full trading cost
Use the same currency pair, position size, account currency and expected holding period for every comparison. Record the spread, commission on both sides of a trade, overnight financing and currency conversion. Add any withdrawal or inactivity fees that apply to your intended use.
An advertised minimum spread is not a typical execution result. A demo can help you understand order entry and contract sizes, but it cannot establish how a live account will execute during volatile markets.
Test the workflow, then read the exit conditions
Check that your platform supports the order types and tools you actually need. Read identity verification, deposit ownership and withdrawal rules before sending money. Keep copies of the fee schedule and client agreement with their dates.
Our directory gives you a starting point for this work. A listing, affiliate relationship or sponsored placement does not establish that an account is suitable for you.
