FOREX & PROP FIRM INTELLIGENCEHow our reviews work

FX broker / Education & MetaTrader

XM review.

Source-based editorial reviewReference date: 6 Sept 2026

XM combines MetaTrader accounts, its own app and a substantial education offering. Its global website identifies XM Global Limited in Belize; that does not mean every XM account has the same regulatory protections. Read the entity-specific agreement before choosing an account.

What stands out

  • MT4 and MT5 access
  • Education and market commentary

What to look into

  • Promotions vary by country and terms
  • Do not transfer one entity's regulatory claims to another

Platforms & account model

XM is listed with MT4, MT5, XM App. Confirm the platform available to your account and country before registering.

The agreement determines which company provides your account, which instruments you can trade and the applicable protections. Do not assume that every entity in a broker group offers identical terms.

Costs worth checking

Compare spreads, commission, overnight financing and conversion costs together. Check whether a commission is per side or round turn and whether inactivity or withdrawal charges apply. An advertised minimum spread is not a measured average.

Before opening an account

  1. Match the legal entity, domain and permissions in the regulator’s own register.
  2. Confirm that residents of your country are eligible.
  3. Review the fee schedule, funding methods and withdrawal requirements.
  4. Keep a dated copy of the terms you accepted.
